Sikh Pilgrimage Tour

Duration: 6 Nights/7 Days

Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
Our representative shall pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel for check in. In the afternoon, after taking some rest, you will start your pilgrimage tour. On this day, you will be taken to the sacred places in Delhi. You will be visiting Gurudwara Sisganj. It is the place where ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1675 AD. Thereafter, you will visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. It is the most prominent Sikh gurdwara which is known for its association with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan. Later in the evening you will Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. On this place where Lakhi Shah Vanjara, a disciple of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, burnt his own house to cremate the body of the Guru. In the evening, you will return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi - Chandigarh - Parivar Vichhora - Anandpur Sahib - Chandigarh
Early in the morning, you will be driven 238 km / 05 hours towards Chandigarh. As soon as you reach there, our representative will escort to the hotel. Thereafter in the afternoon you will be taken to Parivar Vichorra Gurudwara which is 52 km away from Chandigarh. It situated on the bank of the river Sirsa. Later you will drive further 30 km towards Anandpur Sahib. It is also known as the holy City of Bliss. The fortress temple, situated on the left bank of the river Satluj and founded by the ninth Sikh guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, witnesses the final shaping of the military character of the Sikh religion. In the evening, you will be driven back to Chandigarh. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 03: Chandigarh - Amritsar
This day, in the morning, after having breakfast, you will be taken for the city sightseeing excursion. You will visit the Museum, High Court, Assembly Chamber and Rock Garden. In the afternoon, you will check-out from the hotel and move further towards your next destination, Amritsar which is 250 km far from Chandigarh. It is situated on the north-western border of the country. The 400 years old city, founded by the fourth guru of the Sikhs, Guru Ramdas, has been the seat of the Sikh religion and culture from its very inception. It is renowned for housing the famous sacred place Golden Temple. Amritsar, literally a Pool of Nectar, derives its name from the holy pond around the temple. The land for the pool was gifted by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Upon your arrival you will be accommodated at the hotel. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 04: Amritsar - Tarn Taran - Goindwal - Hazoor Sahib - Amritsar
On forth day morning you will be taken for the gurudwara excursion. Firstly you will be driven for 22 km towards Tarn Taran. It is famous for its gurudwara standing on the side of a large tank and was built in honor of Guru Arjun Dev. Lepers come from far off places to have a dip in the tank, for it is believed that its water can help cure leprosy. Continue with the visit to Goindwal. It will take a drive of 23 kms / 30 minutes. Goindwal is located on the banks of the River Beas. It is called as the axis of Sikhism as it was the first center of Sikhism. Since no place was available for a tank, an underground Baoli was constructed near the gurudwara with a flight of 84 steps leading to it. Later you will move further towards Hazoor Sahib. It will be a drive of 10 kms / 15 minutes. This place is a Samadhi (memorial) of the second Sikh guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji, which was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the year 1815. Thereafter you will return to Amritsar. In the afternoon, you will be visiting the Golden Temple. It was built in the midst of the holy pool by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1803. It is also known as Darbar Sahib or Har Mandir Sahib. The dome of the temple is covered with an estimated 400 kgs of gold leaf, hence its popularly known as the Golden Temple. The interiors of the temple are decorated by inlay work with delicate floral patterns done with semiprecious stones. Adjoining the pool is an Akal Takht which is established by the sixth Sikh guru, Guru Har Gobind Singh Ji. It is seat of the supreme head of the Sikh religious authority. Remaining time you will be free to indulge yourself with the beauty of the Gurudwara and its surroundings. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 05: Amritsar - Jalianwala Bagh - Baba Bakala - Amritsar
In the morning, you will be driven 24 km towards Jailianwala Bagh. The historic site where hundreds of innocent Indian men, women and children were massacred by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919 now stands as a memorial and garden. Thereafter, you will proceed further towards Baba Bakala. It will take be a drive of 21 km. This place is associated with the ninth Sikh guru, Shri Tegh Bahadur. It is a magnificent gurudwara where people gather in thousands on every Amavas. An annual fair is held on Raksha Bandhan with about hundreds and thousands of people visiting the place, commemorating the day when the ninth guru was located by his followers. In the evening, you will return to Amritsar. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 06: Amritsar - Delhi
On sixth day morning, you will check-out from your hotel move further towards railway station. From railway station you will board the fast train, Shatabdi Express for Delhi. Upon your arrival, our representative will escort you to the hotel. Thereafter you are free to enjoy your leisure time as no activities are scheduled for the day. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 07: Departure from Delhi
Seventh day is divided into parts. First half is for Delhi sightseeing excursion and second half is for your departure. In the morning, after having breakfast you will be taken for the visit of Red Fort. A symbol of Mughal power and elegance, it was built in red sand stone by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan when he shifted his capital to Shahjahanabad from Agra in 1638. This would be followed by a visit to the India Gate, the country's memorial to the unknown courageous soldiers who laid their lives to save the country. Next on line is a trip to the majestic Qutab Minar. It is a 71 multi-storied tall tower which is built in red sand stone, in Islamic style with its walls consisting of intricately carved quotations from the Holy Quran. Later you will check-out from the hotel and move towards the international airport. Our representative will escort you to the airport from where you will catch a flight for onward journey.
