Kumbh Mela Dates
Kumbh Mela is a festivity of utmost faith and trust
that has gained the attention of even the foreign tourists, who
congregate at the Mela venue to witness this grand occasion. Pilgrims
come here and take holy bath and thus get rid of their sins. Out of all
the rituals, the most important is the bathing ceremony, which is
performed on the auspicious dates as calculated on the basis of
astronomy. Kumbh Mela Bathing ceremony takes place at the following
destinations:
- At Prayag near the city of Ahmedabad, where the three holy rivers
namely Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet.
- At Haridwar that lies in the state of Uttar Pradesh, from where
river Ganga enters into the plains from the Himalayas.
- At Nasik in the state of Maharashtra on the banks of river
Godavari.
- At Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh on the banks of river
Ksipra.

Maha Kumbh Mela Dates
- In the year 2010 during the period between March and April, the
next Maha Kumbh Mela will be held at Haridwar. April 14th is the
main bathing date.
- In the year 2013, Maha Kumbh Mela will be conducted at Prayag
near Allahabad from Jan 27 to Feb. 25. Feb 10th is the main bathing
date.
- In 2015, from Aug 15 to Sept. 13. Maha Kumbh Mela will be
conducted at Nasik. Sep 13 is the main date for bathing ceremony.
- In the year 2016, from April 22 to May 21. Maha Kumbha Mela will
be held at Ujjain. May 21 is the main bathing date.
Ardh Kumbh Mela Timings
- In the year 2010, Ardh Kumbh Mela will be conducted at Ujjain.
- In the year 2013, Ardh Kumbh Mela will be conducted at Nasik.
- In the year 2016, Ardh Kumbh Mela will be conducted at Haridwar.
